Hotel-X Development

Find a practical approach to the Hotel-X development.

Starting a new project might evoke feelings of overwhelmingness. By splitting it into smaller tasks makes it more approachable and thus easier to plan and work on it. As the saying goes: "One small step at a time".   

The 3 phases approach

We've divided the Hotel-X development into 3 main phases. Being the first one our content queries, second the booking flow and third the booking management methods. Why this way? Because after accompanying our buyers through the development process, we've seen that when starting with the content queries, they build a solid base to hold the booking flow and booking management information and logic.  

Content queries

Due to the work and logic that requires not only the obtainment of information (query acquainment), but also the treatment of it (mapping logic), it's the one that takes the longer.

On average, the buyers developing Hotel-X spend approximately 12 days in this phase.

Booking flow

Composed of two queries:

  • Search
  • Quote

And one mutation:

  • Book

The booking flow phase takes, on average, 8 days to our buyers.

Booking management

Composed of one query and one mutation:

  • Booking
  • Cancellation

Our booking management methods took, on average, 5 days to our buyers.

Adding up the three phases, it makes a total of 25 days of Hotel-X development. Obviously, the total time will depend on the amount of resources allocated to the project.

In order to do so, we created the following communication channels (each one with a different purpose, so we make sure that your inquiry hits the right spot):

  • Knowledge Base Help Desk: It's our ticketing system and should be used for technical support after the Hotel-X certification. 
  • Slack: We've created a #platform channel where you will be able to post all your inquiries and concerns during the Hotel-X development.
